Augustus Ham Ltd is an independent company of multidisciplinary consulting engineers for building services based in central London WC1.

The company was founded by Howard Augustus and Mark Ham and commenced trading in July 2011. Howard and Mark were both equity partners for ten years in the consulting engineering practice, Terence Lee Partnership (TLP), which was founded in 1978.

In June 2008, TLP was acquired by Scott Wilson plc to provide mechanical and electrical consulting engineering services for their newly formed Railways Metros division. After completing their contractual obligations, both Mark and Howard decided that they again wanted to provide their clients with an unrivalled level of customer service and engineering services excellence, provided by people who are passionate about the work they produce and their profession, as was once provided by TLP.

This new venture will, as before at TLP, provide advice on every aspect of building services engineering from inspection through feasibility, design and project management for both public and private sector clients within the transportation, industrial, commerce and educational sectors. As before with TLP, Augustus Ham Ltd is focussed on client satisfaction and engineering services excellence.

Directors

The directors of Augustus Ham bring a practical approach to design solutions, their staff and other professional team members, having commenced their careers as indentured apprentices. They believe that this practical experience provides them with a practical approach to design, which other professionals at their level may not always possess. All our projects have director attention with hands on involvement.

Howard Augustus

Howard has had over 30 years experience of mechanical and electrical services design and project management gained in both the public sector, within the healthcare service, and private sector in consultancy. Howard is a Director of Augustus Ham, having previously been an associate at URS/Scott Wilson a partner with Terence Lee Partnership, and has had much experience of mechanical and electrical services design in the transportation sector on both Network Rail and London Underground Ltd stations, depots and property portfolio since 1989.[vc_separator type='transparent' position='center' color='' thickness='' up='' down='']

Mark Ham

Mark has considerable experience in leading, directing and co-ordinating mechanical and electrical design teams and has used his motivational and communication skills to deliver numerous engineering projects to major clients. Directing design teams and influencing the design philosophy to produce a fully co-ordinated design solution. Mark is passionate in maintaining engineering excellence in design and procurement. Safe, simple and effective maintenance, avoiding as far as possible, the need for special equipment and unnecessary isolations coupled with the optimum use of energy are Mark’s key drivers.

Augustus Ham Design Philosophy

Augustus Ham Ltd aims to deliver engineering services designs to their clients, that permit safe, simple and effective maintenance, avoiding as far as possible, and the need for special equipment, premise/business down time, unnecessary isolation coupled with the optimum use of energy.
